>So Busy.
Far to busy to write anything yesterday or today.

Geometry / geography.
I would very much rather be laying in bed all day reading magazines. I wonder how many sick days I have left at work. I think I just need another vacation. It's been so busy here, that when I leave I feel like I haven't accomplished anything. It's the worst feeling! More sooner than later I just begin feeling so frustrated. I might call in sick tomorrow. I might not. I might just sleep in.
Went to the fitness club again and moved around pretty fast for a while. I'll be sore tomorrow.
Still can't think of a name for my imaginary italian greyhound. Ciao, Benno, Pino, Achilles, Atlas, Barkemedes?
I wish I had a soundcard at work. It's ridiculous that I don't have one.

>Oopsy.
I just hit the wrong button and lost the long post I just made. Uggh! I'm far too lazy to recreate it so I'll just make a list of stuff.

Skirts with tennies.
Non-No Japanese fashion magazine.
Japanese girls.
Nick Drake in the morning.
Leon dreams solutions to complicated problems in his sleep.

Ate bad breakfast - cheese toast & pepsi.
Not being able to read Japanese.
Hair won't behave.
Broke caffine strike.
Hurty knee sometimes, hurty back all the time.
No time to be active.

>BOTTLED AT THE SOURCE.
From Friday. I forgot what I did. Oh yeah, I worked out at the fitness club, that's why I'm hella sore today. Yowch.
On Saturday. No more snowy television day. Totally mesmerized by clear, moving pictures on the little box. What did you say? Then we went to Berkeley and got some money, then decided to take a hike. It was getting pretty late when we started out, but I never thought we would be so tired and the sky would be so dark when we got to the end of the trail. So we ate dinner at some crappy, overpriced place and thought, oh let's just take a cab back to our car. It took forever for the cab to get to us because he had to drive 20 minutes in from town. We got to our car, but the fair was 40 bucks and our car was locked in the ranger station parking lot. Uggh! Fully prepared to spend the night in the car, we began unloading the trunk to lay the seats down when Leon found a note on the windshield. It was from a park ranger, telling us that one of the gates was closed but not locked, and to close it behind us when we left. Hell yeah! Time to hightail it the fuck out of dodge. We had nice conversation and fun songs to sing to on the way back so I was happy and content. No doubt, I fell asleep. Probably with my mouth open.
Sunday. Spent time with Aniecia. We got some school clothes for her and she was happy. Watched some bad TV. Went to bed.

>I'm all talked out.
Badical:
Fancy (#6)!
New hoodie.
Good chow mein.
Jogging tonight, maybe hiking tomorrow.
Payday.

Just plain bad:
Early Monday morning meeting.
Shoddy car.
Weakness for bbq chips.
Tropical fruit enzyme sensitivity.

>I feel like I just jumped out of a birthday cake.
Here is a list of gross stuff:
The goo that collected in the bottom of the fridge.
The sponge after cleaning it up.
The rubbery string beans from the farmer's market.
Cleo's breath and teeth.

Facts:
I ran around last night doing Chaka impressions for Leon because he was bored.
Only two more days until no more snowy television.
My cat's breath smells like cat food.

>Not even all the stress squeezies in the world can help me now.
Sometimes I really hate this job. Like when I haven't had any breakfast, everyone needs something from me and mistakes come back to haunt the shit out of me. I hate that stuff.

>Fever Monument.
Monday. Work was crazy busy in and out of meetings. Our no onion office potluck was pretty good. I ate far too much Kyuri No Sunome and was miserable all day.
I used to think that the Neil Young and Crazy Horse record "Everybody Knows This is Nowhere" was too wanky. Now, I think it's right okay, except for "Down By the River" which is a pretty creepy song.
Some things that made me happy this morning: Being awake and functioning when the sky was still pink. Cold, crisp air that wanted to be autumn so bad. Leon's sleepy face. Cats begging for treats. Odwalla orange juice. Being the first one in the office with the lights out and only the sound of my typing.

>No me tocas.
Friday Night. We went out to dinner at a fancy restaurant. It was fun, but the food wasn't the best ever. Appetizers were good though. Then we watched Startup.com. It's such a funny, sad movie. I love the part where Dora says that she either wants a dog or a child. At the end there was a great Air song. I have to find out what record that it's on.
Saturday. Leon went to play shooter games with some other dorks, so I drove out to my parent's house. Mom and I went to feed my sister's cat. We didn't have the key to her house so I had to hop the fence to get into the patio and the fucking cat already had food and water. I got some splinters and scratches from the fence. Then we went out to lunch and were on our way over to Old Navy when we got stuck in a turn lane of a really busy intersection. We waited for a tow truck in the scorching heat for almost an hour before help came. So we went back to her house and decided to take my car and go out for a shopping-pick-me-up. Then we sat around the house with dad for a while and went out to dinner. I went home later and fell asleep watching snowy television.
Sunday. Went to the state fair for a little while. Came home to nap and nurse Leon's headache for a couple of hours. Later, we went back for waterslides. After that, we walked around the midway for a while, but the carnies were so depressing that we just went for burritos at Carolina's and ate at home. Fell asleep watching snowy television again and had some nightmares about a devil cat.

>You're a star in the face of the sky.
Thursday. We are both pretty broke, so we went out to celebrate with a pitcher of margaritas. I'm not sure if that helped or not, but it was kind of fun and I didn't have to cook anything. Crashed out on the couch again, and contemplated joining a gym sometime soon. Watched some snowy television then went to bed. Even if I loose everything, I've still got you.
Friday, today. I totally don't want to be here. I'd rather be out of town somewhere, seeing new things. The smog is so horrible today with the thick brown layer of air on the horizon. It looked like LA and I hate LA. My office environment is ruining my eyes, back and wrists. The air in here is so dry that I can't even make boogers.
Tonight is our fancy dinner where we celebrate Leon's new job. We're going to break out the bottle of wine we bought in Napa last summer sometime.

>We can meet on Christopher St.
Wednesday. Barbequed at the Hull Harem. It was okay I guess. I dunno, I just feel like they invite us over, and maybe it seems like a good idea to them, but when we get there it's still like no one really wants to talk to us or is very interested in having a two way converstation. I don't think it was really bad this time, but it has been in the past. Anyway, after that we went out for cake and coffee for Leon's half-birthday. For some odd reason he picked some strawberry-vanilla cake with butter cream frosting. Yuck! It was okay at first, but after a couple of bites, you could have just scraped off the frosting and spread it on toast. It was too rich so we left most of it there and went home. Crashed on the couch watching snowy television, and held my stomach to nurse some mighty cramps.
Thursday morning. I just remembered a dream that I had on Tuesday where I was a child swimming in a neighboor kid's pool. We were playing with a half deflated raft and the kid ran and jumped on me and the raft. The raft turned upside down and I was trapped underneath with just barely enough room to breathe a couple of breaths before breaking free to the surface. I was afraid that no one would know that I was in trouble. They couldn't hear me underwater, and couldn't see me kicking because I was under the raft. Then I remembered another dream that I had last night that I was at the Sac City College pool, in swimming class. I was doing the breast stroke, and began just breathing underwater each time I took a stroke. It was a great feeling because I could just keep swimming forever and not run short of breath. Then I either woke up or switched dreams.
I am listening to Felt right now. Train Above the City / The Pictorial Jackson Review. I don't get how Felt is all Twin Peaks jazzy on Train Above the City, but then all pop on Pictorial Jackson Review. Well I guess they are allowed to change styles, but it doesn't go well as a split LP. That's for sure.

>My foolish way.
Tuesday. I'm convinced that this blog is boreen and just a bunch of garbage anyway.
Last night we took a walk around midtown. Got italian sodas made with stale mineral water. Walked some more, saw the ghetto bird and speculated about how they might operate that thing. Talked about how he doesn't say my name, say my name. Leon enables road rage, even if he denies it.
Three things that I wish I had right now: New pants, a pepsi, new Stereolab CD.
Tonight is the bbq at Matt & Heather's house. It's nice having a bbq in the middle of the week. I look forward to it on Tuesday, all day Wednesday, and by the time I get there, I only have Thursday and Friday ahead of me. I just need to go this time with a different attitude. We'll leave anyway because we're going out for cake at the dessert diner to celebrate his half-birthday.
This Satruday, Leon is playing shooter games at Seo Hui's. He'll be gone for hours I'm sure. In fact, I don't expect him to come home until Sunday. At first I wasn't going to let Leon read my blog, but then I thought he might like to so I told him the address. I don't think he's very interested at all because I know he hasn't seen it yet and it's been about a week or something. Oh well, I should have known that no one would care.

>Active readership.
Monday. Leon's first day at work. Sounds like a Dilbert strip, but with more computers.
I like summertime because of all the fruit in season. Melons, tomatoes and nectarines. No, melon liqueur doesn't count.
Is midget an offensive word?
Today is early Tuesday. And I wish I were back in bed.

>Twice times. One, two, three.
Friday. Saw Hedwig & the Angry Inch. Wished I was a glitzy rock singer. Got in free, free popcorn, free soda pop.
Satruday. Got my hair cut, and got checked out by some dude. Give it up! Ate lunch, went shopping. Ended up at Bonnie's for a late gathering for her and Ian's birthdays. We watched Flash Gordon and drank. Rory came over and had us all in stitches. Fuck, dude. Passed out watching Monkey Bone. Wait, I don't pass out, I fall asleep.
Sunday. Went to the farmer's market with Mair. Saw Rebecca, got veggies. Went to the Japanese Bazzar. Lame, I'm spoiled because of Japantown. Ate nachos at Hamburger Mary's. Went shopping with Leon for shoes. Took a nap, ate dinner. Went out for drinks with Tom. Ehh, it was okay. Drank some girl drinks.
Leon starts work today!! I'm making him call me on his break.

>Like a gull takes to the wind...
Thursday. I have to say that AT&T Broadband sucks. We tried to get cable yesterday, but they're lame and didn't come. Kept poor Leon on hold for hours. I spent too much money that I didn't even have at the Gap. The clothes I got, I just have to take back anyway. The pants are too big and this morning I unfolded the shirt and found out that I accidentally bought a long sleeve instead of a short one. Rats. I also saw Tom in his new store. He's working for Sam Goody now. Crazy. He said he's making more money, and it's much closer to where he lives, so I guess that's better for him. Since he didn't kick his own butt out of his old store, they ended up kicking it for him. Either way, it had to be done. Jeff Kravitz called me yesterday and I had no idea who he was for the first minute of our conversation. After all, there are a lot of Jeffs out there.
I just found out that I can't access my old Angelfire page! Angelfire-Lycos has gotten all weird now. It just won't recognize me as a member. ARRGH!

>Fair is fair
Wednesday. I was too broke to go to the Dressy Bessy show, so I just stayed home and watched television, then went to sleep. Today. This morning I was too broke to eat breakfast, so I just went to work. I got an email from Denise. I forget what she wanted. I think she just wrote to say that she heard me on the radio. I don't know.

>Hey, I was on the radio. For FOUR HOURS!
Tuesday. My crazy Tuesday. Each Tuesday I go to work at 7 am so that I can scramble to leave at 4pm in order to make it to my radio engineering gig at the station. I help out on a Public Affairs show called Panic Attack, which is hosted by the ever animated and loud Jeff Kravitz, attourney at law. I screen his phone calls and pass him notes to play announcements and such. It's kind of like being Roz on Fraiser, but not as fancy. It's fun, interesting and it doesn't hurt to have a lawyer friend. At anyrate, Jeff is out this week so I just played a tape of one of his older shows. After which was radio theatre, engineered by someone else, then was the 2 hour show from 7-9p that I agreed to sub last week for Martin. I had brought Leon with me, so between us covering 2 hours was nothing. At about 8:30p, Mick, the next DJ on from 9-11p comes in and he's sick as all get out and asks us to cover for him. Not a problem, man. We agree to do it. Then it hits us! We have to pull 2 more hours of material! Yikes. So we ran around the stax maniacally pulling tons of CDs and records. Everything ended up okay, but we were tired, hungry and cranky from having been at the station since 4:30pm. The show will be archived at kdvs.org for a week, until 7pm on 8/14. On the grid, it's 7-9pm, and 9-11pm. Enjoy.

>It seems like a mighty long time
Saturday: Left early a.m. Ate at Cornerstone and had best breakfast in Sacramento. Really, I don’t know whom all those other breakfast places try to fool. Not me, that’s for sure. It goes like this – smashed potatoes, peppers, tomatoes, mushrooms and a big helping of government cheese on top. No onions, no eggs thank you and wheat toast please. Hit the road up I-5 and drove four hours. Scanned local stations on the radio because we forgot new CDs. The oldies stations up north are too ‘50s for me. I’m so over “Duke of Earl”. Sight saw out of passenger window. We saw Castle Crags, Shasta Lake, and Mount Shasta. Went through Dunsmuir and saw the house that Leon grew up in. Drove up the road on Mount Shasta. It was too foggy to see the crest of the mountain, so we drove back down and hiked around Panther Meadows a while. Stuck our hands in some icy streams then took off to town for some briquettes and batteries. Headed towards camp, bought firewood from a crazy trailer guy that smelled like cinnamon. Got to Castle Lake and we were not pleased with the fact that we could not have campfires there or bbq. Went over to Lake Siskyou and the lady there told us that they only had crap left for campsites. Lame! We went back to Castle Lake and decided to camp there anyway. We set up and hiked around the lake. The back end of the lake was against a huge craggy granite mountain. The lake was formed when a glacier slid down the side of the mountain during the Pleistocene era and came to rest at the foot. As a result, the deepest part of the lake is against the mountain and its bed consists mostly of granite with hardly any nitrogen or phosphorous, making it almost intolerable to algae and other plant life. So, the water was so clear that you could see all the rocks on the bottom, even the rocks in the deep parts! After the small hike, we ate a little, napped then went on another hike in the evening. We hiked up so far that we found deer tracks and an old forest service road that had long since been out of use. Had bbq that night, looked at the stars and went to bed with an amazing headache.
Sunday: Woke up early and had granola. Waited for sun to come over the hill and then went on grueling hike at 9:30. We hiked uphill to Little Castle Lake. It was much like a pond than a lake, but gorgeous and Bob Ross-like nonetheless. That only took about 30 minutes, so we decided to keep going to the summit. We went uphill, then downhill, uphill, then downhill. We went on like this for another hour and a half. Found more deer tracks, tons of ants, locusts, bees, wasps, butterflies, lizards, a creepy clearing in the forest, and many Sound of Music type hills. We half expected to see Julie Andrews spinning on the mountainsides. We finally made it to the summit and had sandwiches. Sitting up top there we felt like the only two people in the world, then this plane came by and ruined our silence. From the top, we could see the back of Castle Crags, the crest of Mount Shasta, the hills and mountains to the east and the costal mountains to the west. We caught our breath and started back. We soon found that our hike back was mostly uphill. Stopped several times to rest. We got sunburned and stinky. Jumped in the lake to cool down and get clean. Swam a little from rock to rock and stood on sunken logs. Got scared because my legs were cramping up after the hike and got out. Went into town, got wine, cheese and crackers. Drove around the town, hung out in the park, kissed on bridges, saw the headwaters of the Sacramento River jutting out of the side of a hill, and saw the hospital that Leon was born in. Drove up to the fish hatchery and fed rainbow trout. Went back to camp. Sat by the lake, drank a bottle of five dollar wine, filled up on crackers, cheese and carrots. Went back to tent and passed out all night. Woke up at midnight to see the moon shine almost as bright as the sun.
Monday: Woke up early, packed up and went into town. Got gas and drove to Dunsmuir to see Mossbrae Falls. To get there we walked on a narrow path beside some train tracks for about 20 – 30 minutes. Leon put some pennies down on the tracks to get squished. The falls were gorgeous! They looked like they should be on a tropical island. The water fell over the side of a small moss covered cliff and into a tiny bend of the Sacramento river. Hiked back and met up with a train right where we left the pennies, we dove onto the side of the hill below the tracks and watched the coins get squished. Train passed, got the pennies and hiked back to the car. Drove through the city park and headed back on I-5. Found a Taco Bell in Redding. Rejoiced over soap in the bathrooms and ate bad food. Headed back home. It was hot when we got there. Cats were mellow and didn’t try to run out when we got back. Heather later told us that she spent at least an hour a day petting them when she was cat sitting for us. No wonder! Drank some beers and then went shopping for new running shoes. Got the Spoon watch that I’ve always wanted. Marked down from $295.00 to $49.97. Ate good pizza, visited Mair and borrowed movies from her. Fell asleep on the couch watching blade runner.
Dressy Bessy show tomorrow. I’m on the radio tonight 7-9pm.

>Just Point Out What You Want
Fantastic: Leon keeps his job, camping is go, got floor tickets for Belle & Sebastian's 2nd night.
I suppose that I have nothing to complain about today. Except money!! Uggh, rent is due today. I don't wish to be rich, but I would like to pay my bills comfortably one day. I know I won't get there by working here. I get so stressed out, it makes me physically ill. This is just a crazy, busy industry and you can never really catch up no matter how hard you try. For someone who likes to have closure, it's just not satisfying. Yet, I'm still here!
More probably, but later.
Okay, I'll be gone until Monday evening. Doug, you'll just have to suffer until then. Because, you're the only one who reads this besides me.

>Now Make It Mellow...
Whatever, the new cool indie thing is to like soul. Or, that's what I heard. Listen buster, I was dancing the tighten-up when I was in diapers.
Poor Leon is a complete wreck. Sprained toe, rash of poison oak. Poor kid. We might not even be able to go camping. That's okay, I won't really be bummed out.
I love news magazine shows. I try to catch a couple per week. In the last few weeks there have been almost nothing but murder mysteries. These are the most fascinating ones, closely followed by the investigative/exposé episodes complete with hidden cameras. I guess I watch too much TV. What the hell, it cheaper than going out and far less stressful too. I get so dissapointed with people.
All I want is to get out of town, to take some naps, to go swimming, to move out of my crappy apartment by the freeway, for someone to send me flowers, to take me out to dinner, to tell me that I'm a rad. That's all. I'm just being whiney today.

>I Dance With The Clams And You Dance With The Fish
You dance with the fish, you dance with the fish. Fish are kind of scary. But not as scary as caterpillars. And caterpillars are absolutely not as scary as banana slugs. The fear of banana slugs is called limaxaphobia. I'm very limaxaphobic! I cry when I see them. I've been known to become hysterical too. I know it's an irrational fear, but I can't help it. Slugs, all slugs are just fucked up. They don't have any purpose that I can see. Snails aren't that much better. My apartment complex has a lot of vegetation. Trees, bushes, flowers, ground cover plants. It's all very nice to look at, but at night, the slugs and snails come out to roam the walk ways. It can be very scary! First of all, I never go outside without shoes. Second, I look before I step. Everyonce in a while if I'm not careful I might step on a snail and hear that horrid crunch. Sick, dood. I hope there aren't any slugs where we are camping this weekend.
Okay whatever. You love me. I just bought Belle & Sebastian tickets on-line. And I was like, "What the shit?!", because they were like sixty dollars for two tickets. I'm still trying to get on the guest list, but I'm not holding my breath.
