Like a truck hit me.

I went spelunking at Moaning Caverns in Calaveras County on Saturday. Definitely not for the claustrophobic or faint of heart. I squeezed and crawled through tiny, tiny, stuffy, damp, dark spaces surrounded by jagged rocks. Banged up my knees pretty good. Next time, I will definitely come better prepared with knee pads and stronger deltoids because right now, I'm pretty sore.

Super busy.

Just got back from DC and Philly. Hung out with Les, went places. Did not get a street pretzel in Philly.

Now off to Chicago. Vrooom.

Dear Leon,

I thought I was being sneaky when I took what I thought was Pepsi money from your side of the bed. When I got to work and went to the vending machine, I pulled out a pocket of foreign coins. Although 2 quid is equal to about 4 bucks and 6 cans worth of soda, the machine will still not accept it from me.

Please accept my humble apologies for trying to steal your pocket change.

Sincerely,
Tiny Clanger

Charm School For My Generation:

The Vice Guide To Everything.

If there isn't anything in here about giving a waiter a generous tip because they hooked you the fuck up when you were a pretty needy table...or 4, then there should be.

I review 2 CDs

Har Mar Superstar - The Handler (Record Collection)
I let this sit on my desk for one whole day because I haven't heard any previous Har Mar Superstar CDs, just some hype surrounding them. Dear Har Mar, will you ever forgive me? I put this in this morning and I'm well into my second listen. Wow. He has completely nailed this Justin Timberlake/New Edition infused disco laden modern r&b style. I can't get over that he looks like that, but sounds like he does. I haven't been paying attention to the lyrics enough to know if I should be offended, but overall, it sounds like it's supposed to be funny. Really good party music.

Death From Above 1979 - You're A Woman, I'm A Machine (Vice Recordings)
Loud, rock, punk, melodic, you know...that NY sound, but without being entirely cliche. Okay, I really like it. And it's put out by Vice, producers of the best free magazine that I never get but once in a blue moon. What's with the 1979?

It could be nothing

I recently heard about a friend, whose hairdresser discovered a lump behind her ear. Long story short, the friend had to have some major, scary surgery to get it removed. It got me to thinking. Hey, I have a lump behind my ear too. So Leon made me go to the doctor to get it checked out. My doctor says it feels like a swollen lymph node. Thing is, it's been there, the same size for months, or even a year. And I've got some other ones...elsewhere. So I had blood taken and they're going to screen me for some basic stuff. It will probably come back normal I guess. I'm supposed to monitor my lumpy lumps for 2 more months and go back for a check up. If they're still there, I may have to see a surgeon. But like I said, it could be nothing.

I have caught kickballs with my own two hands

Last night was the first ever kickball practice. Boy, do I need it. By the time it was over, I caught a few balls. Sweet.

This was an awesome ending to a day in which I felt like the biggest schlamazeil in the world. I couldn't get over on the freeway, almost got into two accidents and missed my turn off. Some days I feel like Larry David, but not as funny. Yesterday was one of those days.
