I dreamed that there was a machine that told me that a letter was in the mail from you.
I've decided not to dress up today. In costume. Normal clothes are okay and I'm wearing them now. Just so you know.
There'll be plenty of dressing up later, in November when the Frenchmen perform as a well-loved '90s band.

2:00 AM - 3:15 AM, Wednesday October 29, 2003.
I woke up at around 2 AM this morning. I couldn't go back to sleep. I think it was wedding anxiety again. I had dreamed that there were only 4 months left until the wedding. I woke up and started counting the months on my fingers to see if this was true.
1. November
2. December
3. March
4. April
!!!!!!
Was it true? I certainly thought so. Suddenly I becamed panicked. I have so much to do! My maid of honor needs a dress, I still have to make invitations, we need a cake and photographer. And what about decorations for the hall?!!! Flowers...chafing dishes. I have so much to do. I started to figure out a rough savings plan. On top of that I was intensely contemplating the purchase of another Burberry scarf I found on line for $55. Which I shouldn't be doing, but want to so very badly. The price is half off! Then, at about 3:00 AM, after mentally playing out the next 4 months of planning for our wedding with and without the Burberry scarf, I realized I had miscounted months. I actually have 6 months to do all of this. It took me about 15 minutes to finally relax and get back to sleep.

I lost on Jeopardy, baby.
I tried out for Jeopardy and didn't make it.
Camille, Dani and I showed up to the Sunrise mall at about 1PM. Oh, Sunrise mall. I remember you. Every Saturday morning, getting dropped off by mom with Tiffany and Christina. I stretched $20 dollars so far. Taco Bell, candy, koosh ball, a cassingle from Musicland. So at any rate, here we are at Sunrise mall, standing in line to try out for Jeopardy. The wait made me anxious. What if I got up there and they disqualified me for not finishing college? I had to take the chance. Alex Trebec made a goodwill appearance and shook hands, kissed the babies in line. I snapped a photo. We met a neeerrrd behind us. Nice enough, he told us that he was considered by some as an amature biblical scholar. Then he told me that I looked like Jeanine Garafalo. I've heard that before. So we get up and take the test. It was hard.
Here are some questions that I remembered:
In 1496, Juan The Handsome married some chick and they had a daughter who became what queen?
Who published Stewart Little in 1960?
This Thai city is considered the Venice of the far East.
What is the melting point of ice? This one I think I got. Is it 1 degree C?
And some other stuff that was just too hard.
I couldn't finish the test, nor could my companions. So we quelched the fires of defeat with strong consumer sentiment. We went shopping.

What the crap?
I'm taking a moment for some whiney whining. About the weather.
Now, I am fully aware of where I live and I never waste an
opportunity to mention I was born here. I was born here and so I
should be used to warm temperatures, but for crap's sake! I just
read the 10 day forcast at weather.com and I feel like doing a
raindance on the west steps of the capitol to protest the weather
we're having.
10/26 - 92F
10/27 - 96F!!!
10/28 - 95F
10/29 - 91F
10/30 - 87F
10/31 - 88F
That's it. I'm moving to Alaska to work on the crab ships or
something. Good riddence heat! I'll be shivering in my golashes
soon enough while you guys are splashing around in the American River
during CHRISTMAS!

Only FIVE miles.
Yesterday I came home to find Leon going through old VHS tapes. He found an old home movie from 1988, where he and his sister were doing skits, commercials, and lip synching songs. At first I was kind of weirded out by seeing my boyfriend as a young boy. But then I got used to it and it was just hilarious. I love that boy.

Keg Stand
Party weekend USA. Friday I went to a party. We played with duct taped, fake weapons. I fell asleep watching jujitsu techniches on VHS. They spent 15 minutes on the spot above your elbow. Saturday I went to another party. They had dogs, keg stands, dancing, pledge on the floor, Krusty The Clown, nail polish and band-aids.
Sunday we had a show at BOTH. It was fun and frustrating. I should have brought my own amp. On the way home we were followed. No doubt by rabid fans. Such is the life of stars. Next week I have my own E! True Hollywood Story.

Catching up
I've not been keeping up like I should. Here, in short form, is a list of things that have happened to me since last week.
1. We got a new governor.
2. I partied with a rock band from Mexico.
3. I saw Peja at Lucca.
4. I had band practice.
5. I went to the best art show I've ever been to.
6. I ate apples.
7. Spent a morning in the hospital with my sister.
And here I settle. Quietly toiling away my days until the weather gets cooler. Normal autumn temperature days, that's where I'm at peace. The summer is a hot and restless time; it's just not for me.

Cats wearing glasses.
I just remembered a dream I had the other night where my friend's cat was wearing big, goofy eye glasses.
Enough of that. I'm feeling really annoyed by this recall election. I heard a figure somewhere that only 1/35 of the state voted to hold this special election. I am so apalled that such a tiny fraction of the state's population can decide to put us though a stupid, needless $66 million dollar election. I'm so against it. So very against this whole thing.
This weekend was fairly busy. Friday, we watched Rushmore with Mariah & Jarrett. Their new place is nice and their cat is crazy. We were subject to a slideshow of their vacation, and subsequently a slideshow of the cat as well. Here's the cat in a drawer. Here's another one of the cat in the drawer with a Von Dutch hat in the foreground. And so on, and so on. It started to become really funny for me and I almost lost all composure.
Saturday Leon had two shows. I elected to go to the later one because it was within walking distance and that way I had a little time to visit my home away from home, Target. I rarely cruise the clothes section there, but did this time and found two tops. At Target! Then I went to Nordstrom rack, spritzed myself with Burberry cologne, stuffed my foot into about 30 left shoes and left empty handed. I felt somewhat victorious for not buying anything, but also defeated. I still might go back and get those loafers. Yes, I said loafers. Then I came home, ate some dinner, made a drink and got ready to meet Leon at his show. I showed up and didn't really know anyone, so I found some people I kinda new and sat by them. I talked to Mr. Hart and Mr. Knives for a while then meandered over to the Head and Mr. Maxwellhouse. We made tentative plans to go to the Townhouse, but spent too much time drinking coors light in the loft parking lot. Why there, I don't know. Just because I guess. Then I met back up with Mr. Leon and we decided to go back and watch the Four Eyes. But it didn't exactly happen like that. We stood outside of the club and pretended to be interested in ceramic cows in the window display next door. Chris was so distracted or drunk that he kept refering to them as pigs. I got tired of correcting him after a while and they were all pigs. So since I spent a lot of time hanging out with people I only kind of knew and was feeling sort of lonely, so Leon and I decided to blow the whole place off and hit Del Taco. We spent all our change and very few dollars on two quesadillas, a works burrito, a rootbeer and the largest fries I've ever had. They were served in a 32 oz cup! In the morning we woke up with all of that french fry grease seeping out of our pores. Yuck.
I am never drinking beer again. I woke up in the morning, after only drinking vodka drinks all night, feeling like a fucking champ. We lazed around and then went to brunch at Sunflower's. After that, we went to visit our baby niece Marbles. We brought her a weird tennis ball toy and a bull penis. I think she liked the ball, have yet to hear about the bully stick. Then we went home and napped before meeting up with my sister for dinner. Yum, Caballo Blanco. I should have ordered something else though. I didn't really like the quesadillas, but not because they weren't great, which they were, but I was more interested in the enchiladas and regreted not ordering them. I ruined my own dining experience. I have to go back and correct the experience.
Sigh.

Totally wack.
Last night was my late night. I have school until 8:30 on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I didn't get home until almost 9. And with all the meetings, dinners and crap I've had all week, I was ready to be domestic together. Leon was out partying. I washed some dishes, pet some cats, made some dinner (raw food except for the feta). He came home and fell asleep on the couch. I feel like I haven't seen him all week and here he goes passing out on my lap. And then he wouldn't come to bed.
Me: "Come on, get up and go to bed."
Leon: "Mmmmnnnn. I want to sleep here."
Me: "The bed is where you can stretch out."
Leon: Frowns.
Me: "Okay, maybe not. But come to bed!"
Leon: "Carry me."
Me: Frustrated, gets up. Brushes teeth and changes into sleeping clothes. "I want you to know that you are being totally wack right now. Good night."
But I couldn't leave him there. So I yanked him up by his arm and he finally stood up and went to bed. Bed....where falling asleep is totally def.
And fresh.

A real champ.
Last night. I sang karaoke in front of my boss. Yeah, I know. I'm totally mortified. But, you know what? A lot of other people in my office did it too. Including my boss. Still, though what was I thinking? I was drunk. I guess I just wasn't thinking.
This morning I went shopping for damage control provisions.
1 Amy's vegetable pot pie pocket (to settle the stomach)
1 Liter bottle of water (to rehydrate)
1 32 oz bottle of watermelon flavor Gatorade (to rehydrate fully)
1 20 oz bottle of Pepsi (to wake the hell up)
1 pack of Trident White pepper mint gum (to mask the worst morning / fish breath I've ever had)
We ate at Joe's Crab Shack too. Terrible, just terrible. Everything was obnoxious. The waitstaff had dances! They'd stop what they were doing, a certain song would come on and they'd do some synchronized dance. They had nothing I could eat, so I broke down and ordered salmon. It was okay, but I feel like I can still taste it. I had crab dip too and it was gross.
