Movie, lunch.

Gothika and Applebee's. Fun times with co-workers. And no one even had to pay. Sure, that wasn't my first choice of movies, but there's really nothing great out right now in the big theatres. Nothing at all. But I am curious about this movie that comes out tomorrow called The Missing.

Today's installment of Teeni Blog is brought to you by:

Yeah, me too.

Last night I went to see a movie by myself. I've decided that I like to see movies by myself. It's kind of nice, a treat. Anyway, I saw Pieces of April, which I didn't think I'd like initially because it stars Katie Holmes. I'm not a big fan and I never watched Dawson's Creek. In this movie, she's great. So in the film, the mom has cancer and some of the family is on eggshells about it because it might be the mom's last holiday. The characters and message really hit close to home for me. I could see my sister and I in the siblings. My sister, the first pancake, and me, the good one. I remember going through the same thing in 1996-1998. We were told that my mother would be dead in 2 years. So we had to make the best of the holidays. It was difficult to enjoy ourselves knowing that it could be our last holidays with mom. It's something I'd not like to go through again. Here we are six years later and we still have mom. She's a little different now, but we all are and we still have her.

Laughing, crying, driving

After a long weekend, driving, playing music, drinking road sodas, staying up all night, eating and generally being social, we were driving home in day old underwear. Our hairs messed up and oily, clothes unkempt and obviously slept in, I was nearly delerious. I wanted badly to be home and showered and rested, but we we'd only started the long, gloomy ride home from the bay area. Leon was eating discounted chewing gum. Chewing up pieces and spitting them out of the car window when they lost their flavors. Real classy.

Me: "Hey, don't do that. A bird could pick that up and choke on it."
Leon: "A bird could pick that up and blow a bubble."

For some reason this struck me as possibly the funniest thing I've heard in months. So I laughed and laughed until I cried. It's a delicious feeling when your emotional reactions get crossed and you have two at once. It's like teetering on a balance beam and you could fall either way. The delight is maintaining the balance and enjoying both together for the weird animal that they become.

Volando Voy

Fun weekend. Sleepy times. I'm tired. All night I dreamed abour tigers. I think it's because of something I must have seen on television. Cable television. That I just paid $54 for. Convenient, multi-channel entertainment and live Kings games all season will be my financial ruin.

I guess I didn't like what I wrote previously, so I'm writing this instead:

For my job, I do some local marketing stuff for Hawaii. I know, that's great huh? But I haven't been on a business trip there yet. So, since I really don't know much about the market (which is why I need to go on a business trip there, hello!), I put some Hawaii news headlines on my daily news site. I just want to express my suprise at the alarming number of "Body found floating in water" headlines I've seen in the last 3 months or so.

Attention people in Hawaii, tourists or otherwise: Wear life jackets!

Teeni Santini's Suggestions for Life. Part 4.

A new installment for Teeni Blog: An on going list of helpful tips and suggestions. Just in case.

Drinking

1. Club soda looks an awful lot like a gin and tonic. While holding one, you still appear to be in party mode, but you're really sipping a nice, hydrating beverage.

Teeni Santini's Suggestions for Life. Part 3.

A new installment for Teeni Blog: An on going list of helpful tips and suggestions for situations that have not necessarily happened to me. Ever. But one should keep them in mind. Just in case.

Shopping

1. Wait until your favorite clothing stores get a couple of weeks into their new season lines. Then, hit the clearance racks, because there's good findings in there. Even if they're not really winter clothes per se, it never really gets that cold in Sacramento anyway. Sleeveless shirt? Holiday party. Classic open-toed shoes? Just wait until spring. 3/4 sleeve shirts? Throw on a sweater and no one knows.

Teeni Santini's Suggestions for Life. Part 2.

A new installment for Teeni Blog: An on going list of helpful tips and suggestions for situations that have not necessarily happened to me. Ever. But one should keep them in mind. Just in case.

In the office

1. Becareful when replying to all on an email. You never want it to get back to your agency that you think they're lying.

Parties

1. When you're at a party and you need to use the bathroom, be sure to check behind the shower curtain for peepers before you sit on the pot.

Love

2. If you decide to instate Romantic Gift Mondays with your girlfriend, be sure to actually follow through.

Clark '04

I love Wesley Clark.

Exhale.

I keep having these dreams that seem to me, very realistic and when I wake up, I still belive that they happened. At least for a minute or two.

Yesterday I woke up thinking Leon and I were going to buy a really nice house. Today I woke up thinking I had a really nice conversation with Charles. But I didn't.

At least they're not wedding anxiety dreams again. Oh man. I don't need to have those anymore. I'm already worried as it is.

Photic Sneeze Reflex

I believe I have a mild case of photic sneeze reflex. This is when you look into the sun or a very bright light and sneeze. About 1 out of 6 people have this. No one really knows why it happens, but it is passed genetically. One theory is that my brain is miswired. When my brain tells my pupils to get small in response to bright light, the message takes the same path as it's supposed to take when my brain tells me to sneeze. Apparently, either my mother or father has this too. However, I say I have a mild case because I have sort of a backwards case of it. When I have the urge to sneeze, but can't right eek one out, I just turn to a bright indoor light or the sun and that simple act greatly facilitates the sneeze. It's like trying and trying to throw up, but you can't, then you start thinking about spaghetti and bluuuuurth....you've puked.
