Little sleeping face

Little sleeping face

From the desk of my "I wish I were the boss of everything" office.

Dear loudness,

Don't you know that I have a sleeping baby? In fact, he's sleeping right now. Shhh! You often show up abruptly, making your presence known to everyone within earshot, including my sleeping baby. So not necessary! I'm looking at you, super loud truck breaks, speeding motorcycles, yap-yap dogs across the street, the trash bins next door, the leaf blowers on my street, the random solicitors ringing our loud, loud doorbell. All of you, keep it down. Not for his sake, but for mine! When he sleeps, I can take care of myself for a change. So please, shhhh. Ok?

We had a blast in New York and are so glad to be home. Home! Where it is quiet (relatively) and stroller friendly (mostly).

I would like to give a shout out to my dogg, Heylove. Here's to you brisket. We're glad you're not dead. So glad! If you haven't heard, she had a series of what we think were seizures the other night. She's now fine, but it put us through quite a scare. We surely hope she's not going to have another one ever, but if she does, we've been told to film it and show our vet.

I would like to give another shout out to my baby, who just sailed though his first virus. After a few days, his fever, spots, general upset and weird poo gave way to his usual mellow, cooler disposition. Ira, today you are a man.

And last and most important, a shout out to Leon. Because he's the #1 dog ambulance driver and second string baby rocker. Oh, also because he bought me a delicious dinner at Kaveri Madras last night.

City kid

Rice-A-Roni anyone?

Ira is on his way to becoming a well-traveled kid. We're off to NY tonight for baby's first visit to the Big Apple. Geez. I didn't get to visit there until I was like 25. We'll be visiting Leon's family and seeing a couple of friends, too. Should be loads of fun. Ira is very excited about trying his first NY bagel. I can't wait to get lost in the giant H&M, snack on cart knishes, search out awesome falafel, finally see the MOMA and visit the bridge that we got engaged on. See you next week!

I'm going to miss this guy! No, not FDR. Old-timey Olsen. Who's going to entertain us with gossip about the lesser known presidents now?
