Goodwill Ambassador.
Last night while walking down J street, I felt like a movie star. Every where I turned "Hi Teeni!" "What's up Teeni!" "Teeni, I love you!" "Aren't you in the Frenchmen?" I must have run into about 4 people I knew in the distance of about 3 blocks.
Good people of Sacramento, eat cake!
Today I'm trying to pull off knee-high fishnet socks with a jean skirt. I don't know if I'm doing very well.

Sound.
A nightmare early this morning woke me up. I got out of bed to walk it off and came to a stop in the hallway. I looked towards the windows, and paused. Everything was so quiet. I started to fear that everything I dreamed about had come true. I went back to bed and sobbed. Then the cat who never comes to bed, came to bed and cooed to me. I was convinced that it had all happened. I knew somewhere in my heart that we lost him. I eventually reasoned with myself to drift back to sleep and a phone call this morning confirmed that everyone was safe.
I've really frightened myself. This is the second time this week that I felt something terrible was going to happen to someone I loved.

Mini Pizza Tour of Sacramento.
Upon hearing that good pizza exists outside of Zelda's, I knew we had to seek it out. Two whole hearted recommendations of Giovanni's in South Land Park and to Roma's II in Rancho Cordova especially intrigued us as they came from Zelda's Chicago style pizza fans.
Giovanni's - Geez. This place is far from midtown, way out on South Land Park and 43rd. The dining area was huge, with lots of cafeteria style tables and combat green walls. We ordered some type of veggie pizza. Dan and I quicky arranged a trade of artichoke hearts for tomatoes. The crust was very thin (definitely New York style), the sauce was fresh and tangy tasting and the toppings were pretty generous. We unexpectedly found a few bits of sausage on it though and had to send half of it back for a new one. Overall, it was pretty good but I don't see myself driving all the way out there when I can just walk to Zelda's.
Roma's II - Geez. This place is far from midtown, way out on South Watt near Kiefer. The decor was very average, well-lit, checkered tablecloths, TV mounted on the wall, booths and tables. After indecision on whether or not to just order the margharita, we decided to order two small pizzas, the margharita that we'd heard was legendary and the veggie without onions. The margharita came first. The presentation was so off. The cheese was browned, there was hardly any basil on it and the tomatoes I could cound on one hand. The taste was fair at best. The burned cheese was far too chewy and the sad tomatoes were tasteless. Then the veggie arrived. The cheese wasn't burned, but it was still too chewy. The sauce was good, but I've had better. Overall it was okay. I don't think I'd be craving it enough to make the trip back.
Zelda's wins again. If I lived ten miles away, you'd better bet I'd still make the drive to eat there. And Zachary's in Albany will still remain the only place that I will drive an hour just for one of their stuffed pizzas.

Rar.
I just lost the post I was writing about how I am so disinterested with the Super Bowl. The best things about this weekend were all about the syllable nap. Napping on the couch and Napa dinner. The worst things were all about my new neighbor. She parties often and her racket wakes me up every night.
I'm too square.

Can't think.
I am not feeling wordy today. I just finished second breakfast with a gaggle of co-workers and we all realized that we spend more time interacting with eachother than we do our boyfriends and significant others. A few minutes ago I thought that was an amusing tidbit. At this very second, I'm finding it rather sad.

I am a video game.
Tonight I start class. Tomorrow I have turbo kick class and then the Surreal Life is on. Friday I'm making necklaces with Heather. Saturday we may go record shopping in the city. Sunday I've got band practice. Monday I have class again and Joe Millionaire is on. Tuesday I have turbo kick class and American Idol is on.
Repeat.
If you want to see me, please make an appointment with my secretary. Because unless you are a tv show, a class that I have to pay for, or are willing to have a conversation with me while I kickbox, I have no time for you. Unless of course you already live with me. Then you're a shoe in anyway.

Celebration time woo-hoo.
Like a bonehead, I deducted my car payment twice from my checking account. Three cheers for happy accidents. I wasn't as broke as I thought. So I went out last night and filled my gas tank, bought some flamin' hot cheetos and some socks on clearance.
This morning at 1:34 AM, my new stout, young, sassy neighbor was heard shouting: "I am so Sacramento! I am SOOOO Sacramento. Like, listen to me, I'm so valley!!" In actuality, she was not so Sacramento, but SOOO very loud that I was woken from my precious beauty sleep. Quit yelling, we're not in Northgate!
Now for my top favorite foods this week:
Olives
Flamin' Hot Cheetos
Pizza
Salty almonds
Pico Pica sauce

Money-shmoney.
Why are textbooks so expensive? In some alternate universe, I make enough money to support myself. I bought one of my books for school yesterday (pricey!) and have to buy another on Saturday. As lame as it is, I have to get a loan from the Code Monkey Savings & Loan and the First National Bank of Mom to finance this venture.
For your entertainment, a tiny rap about my going back to school to study Spanish.
I'll be getting A's
And they be sayin' hey...
And it's all like whoa
No me llama gringo.

Over my head.
I played music last night with two skilled musician ladies. They really knew what they were doing, and I did not. I'm not a musician, I don't know how to play a Bm7. I could look at this two ways. One: I can become a better guitar player this way, if I'm challenged. Two: This duo can most easily find another guitar player perfectly capable of playing Kokomo by the Beach Boys without a lot of handholding and help. And I wouldn't have another obligation to tend to when I've been trying to find time to myself.
I can't even determine notes by ear.

I own you. I own YOUUUUU.
I've had short hair for most of my adult life. Including a buzz-cut, a pixie, a black helmet and a blonde helmet among other styles. And now my hair is shoulder length. Long, even, healthy and pony tail ready. So when I see someone with short, stylish hair, I can't help but feel a longing for my old style. But then I make a couple of pig tails and shake my head about. I never could do that with short hair.

Last night a taco saved my life.
Too much drinky last night. I came home and had two tacos to slay the beast in my guts...it worked. I woke up this morning feeling like a champ, a tired, tired champ. And a relieved, feeling guilty champ for almost breaking kitty's foot yesterday before band practice. She's fine and probably forgot about it already.
Now I'm trying to register for a spanish class but I don't know if I can get my official transcripts turned in in time. Teeni, you lazy bum.

It seems like a mighty long time.
I spent my vacation not doing the things I said I would. I slept, got coughy sick, aquired some headaches, gave and received presents, read some books, went some places and watched the Food Network just about everyday.
From the top of my thoughts, here's what I've resolved to do this year:
1. Pick a date and plan the wedding.
2. Be a better cat mom and girlfriend.
3. Eat healther (so far, so good).
4. Create and maintain a personal budget.
5. Read more books (joining the book club is a start).
6. Keep all the receipts for stuff I can write off on my taxes.
7. Not get infected by deadly parasites (that one's easy).
