Imaginary

When I was 4 I had an imaginary friend named Kimberly. We played Fischer-Price Lil' People and Weeble Wobbles. My 4 year old niece, who is on the fast track to becoming J.Lo, has an imaginary husband named Jackie Smacks. Times have changed. They sure have.

I am writing to you from the comfort of my new layer of fat, courtesy of the 6 tamales I've had in the past 4 days, all that rice and oh, all those beans!!! Thanks to my lovely family who has banded together to make my wedding planning go as smooth as possible. The food and floweres are done. I haven't had one wedding anxiety dream yet. But when I do, I can wake up and say, dude, that's totally done.

Phew.

In the nick of quick

Our department holiday lunch starts today at 2pm. Yes, 2! Clearly not lunch time. I've already had to eat about 12 bbq chips, 20 wheat thins and two bites of cherry pie. I know exactly what the lunch will be and I'm not looking foward to it. Somehow, by fluke or flake, we've managed to eat at Rio City Cafe three times this month. Normally, this would be fine by me so long as we are furnished with ample ammounts of their special cheesy loaf. Unfortunately, we found on our first visit this month that the cheesy loaf was out of season and has been replaced with....flat bread with goat cheese, roasted garlic and tomatoes. Hold up. Tomatoes? I know for a fact that tomatoes are out of season. Wouldn't that dish be a better spring/summer appetizer? Cheesy loaf, by nature lends itself much better to fall and winter. Piping, hot cheesy loaf....mmm. So anyway, we aren't having it. Instead, we're having a fixed menu because there are so many of us. We've had a sneak peak of this menu when we ate there last week. I'll be having the slimy vegetarian sandwich. Again. I have no respect for restaurants who's lame attempt at a vegetarian menu item is the slimy vegetable sandwich.

It's a good thing I've filled up on snacks already.

Saturday

I still can't get over it. I ran into my sister at an art gallery on Saturday. Not that my sister wouldn't be into an art gallery, but that my sister would be at the buyout/sellout art show and she actually knew a handful of the girls designing and working there. It was great. I'm so happy for my sister now that she's much healthier. Proud too.

Wedding anxiety dream #48

Last night I dreamed of another wedding disaster. There were forgotten invitations, terrible food and lots of tears.

I'm calling right now about the invitations so at least I don't have to worry about them anymore. I can wake up and say, "oh it was just a nightmare. The invitations are taken care of." Until then, they remain nightmare material.

No suspires más

I have too much anxiety right now. Last night I had wedding anxiety dreams. How could it be a day before the wedding and I haven't given thought to what I'm going to do about flowers?!! You know, stuff like that. Then, I'm worried about christmas presents. The grinch took away my holiday bonus, which is usually about $500. So, no one is getting much from me this year. I have to make my already limited funds stretch between presents, bills, rent and this wedding I'm supposed to be saving for. It's a headache to try and prioritize these things.

I've decided that the only thing I really enjoy about christmas is getting to watch christmas movies.

Nothing new

No new news.

I wish there was some king of magic nail grower that would make your fingernails grow faster. For now, I'm gluping down lots of water (well, I will be as soon as I refill my water bottle) and hoping for the best.

Most menial of tasks

I don't want to, but I have to start pulling my November sales reports. Then I have to fill out my T.P.S. report cover sheets before gettng back my stapler.

My vacation hardly felt like a vacation as soon as I got in this morning and sat at my desk. All I ever see is this computer screen and it gives me a cross-eyed headache. Woe is me. I went to lunch with the girls in the office and talked about boys. They have revolving casts of boyfriends and hook-ups. I, me, myself, I.....I have my favoritest, most lovliest boy. They would not enjoy the stories I have to tell about him, of us laughing about something that only he and I think is funny. They wouldn't get it. But everyone understands the girls chasing the boys and so we talk about that at lunch.

I'm just about done battling this head cold. It's retreated into the depths of my sinuses and has given weight to my speech. If I had an english accent with my head cold, my accent would be unmistakably Liverpudlian. Love, love me do.

Making way on the invitations. I found the most perfect one at $6.50 a pop. I ordered a sample and I'm going to copy it at just pennies a card. Pennies! I'm also researching vows, which is scary. I started reading some examples of creative vows and I nearly started blubbering right here in the office. I don't think I'll be able to handle myself at the altar. That's why the Spaceballs vows sound so much easier to me.

Do you?
Do you?

Okay you're married, kiss her.
