>My life is more grown up than I am.
So I saw Matt yesterday, I think maybe it was the day before. I go: hey I haven't seen you in a while. And he says: Well, that's because I'm never at the gym. So I go: What's the matter don't you like lifing heavy things? I guess he doesn't. Matt is someone who would rather play a video game of working out at the gym, but not actually do it. Man, everyone I know is a pussy.
Went driving around last night again, looking for apartments. The search is turning up hopeless. We'll never find something cool that we can afford. I guess we're asking TC to come down on Sunday for a matinee of Glitter. He better not flake on us. Now presenting My Amazon.com Wish List!

>They left my birthday cake out in the rain.
Last night I fell asleep sometime before ten. The only dream that I remember having was one about celebrating my half birthday at work. They had been too busy to celebrate my birthday in February, so they threw me a party six months later. I was going to have cake...but then I woke up because the lady next door gets up at 5:30 am each morning blasting AM talk radio. I almost got up to pound on the wall, much like she had done before, but decided to just suffer.
After work yesterday, I went driving around scamming on some apartments for rent. I had my list from the paper and checked out the stuff in our price range, which isn't much. Everything that I saw was just ugly. It depressed me so I went home. I want to find a new apartment for us at least before the new year.

>Could have been a sailor, could have been a book.
I will warn you now. I'm completely whiney today. My life is so boring. Just look at my last entry from yesterday. Was any of that fun or interesting? No. I'd be happier as an artist, as a lion tamer, as a magician pulling rabbits out of hats, a sky diver, a race car driver a minx. I would be, I should be, but how? I could have been one of these things first. I'll never be one of those people that tells the amazing story at a party or tells their children about the wacky trip to Europe that I took when I was a young twentysomething or about my death defying feats. I've never been to Europe and I don't expect to be able to ever afford to go. This is why I sit at home and no one calls. Or maybe because I don't attempt to communicate with people. Opting to stay in the safety and security of my own home. I don't know, I'm probably perpetuating this boring life. I'm getting caught up in the minutiae of everyday functions. I chase it in circles untill all I'm doing is running anymore and becoming exhausted as a result. How'd I get so ordinary? See, I told you I was feeling whiney.

>Cemetery Party and the Pine Box Rock.
There was a gorgeous thunder and lightening storm last night. We were able to see plenty of it while driving last night. As we drove closer to our apartment, we saw that every single light was out. Even the stop lights were out. We joked about how maybe Carl forgot to pay the electricity bill again. Got in and found the big flashlight, all set for candlelight fast food take away, and then the lights went on. So we ate and watched a documentary about the Kennedy assasination theory and the lights went out again. To our frustration, it went on and off like this all night. So, I thumbed through a portrait book by Steve McCurry, studying as well as I could by candlelight the portraits that he took in Afghanistan. Leon tried to read his Stephen Hawking book but it was too dark. He later woke me up, talking mumbly in his sleep. The lady next door listens to AM talk radio too loud. I didn't sleep as well as I wanted to. It's almost 8 AM, I've been here since 7 and it's quite nice listening to Air while the lights are all out and no one else is here. I like to be alone these days. Mainbocher!
