Mouse, you toothless puff. Part 2.
Last night I went out back to call the cats in. I'm saying "here kitty, kitty, kitty.." and I hear "RROOOOWWWRRR!" Suddenly a puff of fur runs through two picket fences, around and up the deck through the back door. It was Mouse. She was being chased by another cat. The other cat was pacing in the alley, looking on and flitting its tail about. Leon went to calm Mouse down and noticed that she was missing her collar. Her collar with the new ID tag on it! The one we just bought! Those raggedy alley cats beat up my baby and stole her collar! More than likely, she got it caught on something and the break-away feature did its job. I'll go looking for it when I get home.
Poor Mouse must have been an easy target. Her nails were freshly cut, she's missing a tooth and she had a shiny new ID tag on. My cat is a nerd.

Myopic.
I got my new glasses yesterday. I tried them on with my contacts on. It was akin to walking around in a fish bowl. At my eye exam, the doctor peers into my eyes with a magnifier and a light strapped to her head. She checks the right eye, moves over to the left and pauses.
"Have you ever had an eye injury caused by debris in your eye?"
"Ummm," I said, remembering a tiny sty I got 2 years ago from sand being kicked in my eye on our engagement trip. "I had sand kicked in my eye 2 years ago."
"That's exactly what it looks like. Sand. Well, you have sand imbedded in your eye still. If it's not bothering you, don't worry about it. Your body may eventually reject it. But if it starts to irritate you, come in and I'll refer you to an opthamologist who can remove it for you."
Eww.

Sausages and beeeens.
I know where Stuart Murdoch lives. So I'm back from tour and have been back for a while. Everything with the house and moving and unpacking has been taking up so much of my time, that I haven't been able to do much else. Like write here. The house is shaping up just fine. Having all the boxes in here from the apartment made me realize that we had so, so, so much junk in our apartment. How did we ever get by without a second bedroom, an office and 840 square feet of extra space? It was tough, but we did it. It'll be the story that we tell our kids later. "Our kitchen in the apartment was so small that we couldn't be in there at the same time!"
I miss being in London. With the gray skies, our favorite London friends, all those yummy crisp flavours and the ales, ciders, stouts, lagers and pubs to drink them in.
Sigh.
I am borrowing Leon's iPod here at work. I am in love with it and I want one of my own.

Phew. Made it.
So I'm back, but really really busy. If it's not work, then it's cleaning out the old apartment (read: COMpartment) and moving into the house. Uk and Sweden were great. The best of times....ever invented of all times. I sincerely miss the Pipas. I hope they can come back to the West Coast soon.
Meanwhile, limited photos and news up at lovethefrenchmen.com. This link will take you outie because I'm feeling lazy with my html.
More later,
Teeni.
