This is a repeat from my Facebook wall for those readers without the epic privacy violator:

Sometimes Ira says things that make him sound like a manager with bad people skills. Last night he brought us a limp, inflatable guitar and said "I want this blowed up...all the way...YESTERDAY." It was a good, teachable moment for manners, but also really hard not to laugh.

Oh, dear. I love me some Ira.

Stay strong

Must...resist...hashbrown pucks. Instead, I ate this bento snack. While it was nothing like the hashbrown puck I was craving, it did satiate my hunger until lunchtime, which was the goal. Also, hashbrown pucks? Not so nutritious and watching my nutrition is something I've gotten lazy at lately. But not any more! Because...

I got myself signed up for a teeny-tiny race. It's a half marathon, which I will split with two other team mates (shoe bumps to LL and HH). In preparation, I've been following a running program that will get me used to running long distances. Guess what? Running is really hard! Make me tired. Make leg hurty. It's also an activity that I never thought to over-think. However, a daily visit over to Runner's World helps me to now over-think one of humankind's oldest and most basic survival skills. I am not kidding. Do you know that you're probably tying your shoes wrong? I was. I didn't know I was an overpronator either.

Guess who loves running anytime of the day, no matter what the weather? She also doesn't over-think much of anything except how to maximize the number of treats she gets.

Ridiculously cute

It happens to everyone at least once

I can't even look at this without getting a severe case of the CUTES!

Today we had Ira's parent-teacher conference. It was mostly a total Ira love-fest, talking about all kinds of amazing he is. I bet a lot of good teachers like to make parents feel like their child is special, but I really believe Ira's teacher thinks he's great kid. But to be practical, we also came away with a couple of things to work on at home, like holding a pencil the right way. His teacher will also be keeping a close watch on him this year to see if he's going to be ready for kindergarten next fall. Eek! That's coming up. My baby is getting all growed up.
