I'm feeling very busy lately. Ira has exploded into a baby who is continually on the move. If I'm not chasing after him, wait...I'm always chasing after him. I need a break! Ok, everyone breathe.

You know what? I've seen some pretty bad movies lately.

Fur - Stars Nicole Kidman, Robert Downey, Jr. and Nicole Kidman's bad american accent. Gross spoiler! Kidman, as Diane Arbus shaves Robert "my whole body is covered in tawny locks" Downey from head to toe in one excruciatingly long scene in which an old rusty razor is shaken in a glass of warm water about 20 times. Imagine all that work and all you get is Chaplin. This movie should not have had anything to do with Diane Arbus at all. Final word, if this film was a poop, I would have had to flush it twice.

Igby Goes Down - I felt like this movie was a combination of so many others including the Graduate and every Wes Anderson movie. Also in a way, I found it to be a little "Catcher in the Rye"-ish. I might have actually liked it if it were Culkin-less. I really couldn't get past Kieran's chin.

We went to SF for good times and old friends.

It was Ira's first trip to the big city. He liked it, but then this kid is pretty much up for anything.



We met up with Les, who was in town for a wedding. We love Les! She's just about the coolest, down to earth person you'll ever meet. She showed us Tartine in the Mission and she lives thousands of miles away. I had a mind-blowing grilled goat cheese sandwich.



Yeah, so we totally had a blast, but towards the end, both Ira and I felt a little like this.




Today I'm feeling kind of crabby, and so is babers. His excuse is diarrhea and I don't really have an excuse. But lately, I find the following things especially irritating:

1. Just about 3 out of 5 PT Cruisers have some kind of Betty Boop doo-dad on them.
2. Parking at Trader Joe's (all locations).
3. My neighbor's barking dogs.


Glad I got that off of my chest.

This morning, I went with Mariah and Roxy to channel 31 studios. They were featuring her chihuahua meet up group, so Ira and I tagged along. She got interviewed by Tina Macuha.





We talked to Nick Toma!!! I tried to be funny, but I just kind of fell flat. We were looking at all the chihuahuas and then it got quiet. The following transpired.

Me: It would be awesome if all of these dogs could assemble to form a big, giant dog that could dominate all other dogs. [My next line was going to be "like voltron." But then I remembered that Nick Toma is like 15 years older than me and probably doesn't know about voltron, so I left that part out.]

Nick Toma: Heh.

Then he walked away. I'm such a nerd!!
